Bursledon pavilion gets welcome cash boost
The pavilion at Long Lane Recreation Ground in Bursledon is undergoing major renovation, thanks to a cash boost from the Local Area Committee.
The redevelopment includes replacing the old building, which is no longer fit for purpose, with a two-changing room sports pavilion. User of the sports pitches will enjoy enhanced changing, toilet and kitchen facilities, with space for the Parish grounds maintenance team.
The Bursledon, Hamble & Hound Local Area Committee has allocated more than £640,000 to Bursledon Parish Council, using contributions from developers, to carry out the works, which will be led by Eastleigh Borough Council’s project management team.
Chair of the Bursledon, Hamble & Hound Local Area Committee, Councillor Tonia Craig, who is also Eastleigh Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, said: “We’re committed to making long-term investments in facilities that promote the health and wellbeing of communities right across Eastleigh Borough. We’re pleased to be working in partnership with Bursledon Parish Council to deliver a fantastic facility that I’m sure will be welcomed and well used.”
