Air quality scam

Eastleigh Borough Council is issuing a warning about an Air quality assessment scam that has been reported to us by some residents.

We have been made aware that some householders in the Borough have received phone calls claiming that their property needs an air quality assessment by a company that has been contracted by the NHS. The homeowner is then told that this company has a right to enter your house and when they arrive you must let them in. These approaches are fraudulent and you certainly have the right to refuse people entry to your home.

Please ensure that your family, neighbours and friends are made aware of this scam. For this and any other suspicious approach we are advising residents to simply hang up the phone, delete any email or text and report the scam to the Action Fraud line - www.actionfraud.police.uk
