Cemeteries

 

The Authority offers burials in four cemeteries within the Borough. These are located at:

• Eastleigh Cemetery, Brookwood Avenue, Eastleigh
• Bishopstoke Cemetery, off Stoke Common Road
• Ramalley Cemetery, off Ramalley Lane, Chandler's Ford
• Pine Road Cemetery, Pine Road, Hiltingbury.

In our very busy lives of today it is hard to find time to visit graves of our loved ones but the beautiful surroundings of the local cemeteries is a place of rest and tranquility that can be appreciated by everyone.

 

When a loved one leaves this life there are so many difficult decisions to take.  However, whether it is burial or cremation you choose, there are many people who can assist you in making these decisions. Eastleigh Borough Council Cemetery Section can help in whichever choice you make with requests for any of the following:

• Burial or Burial of Cremated Remains
• Scattering of Cremated Remains within the Garden of Remembrance

 

The Authority is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the four Cemeteries within the Borough.  All are accessible at all times for walking visitors but only open for vehicular access during normal opening hours.

 

The Cemeteries are managed and maintained under the Local Authorities Cemeteries Order 1977 and the Local Authorities' Cemeteries (Amendments) Order 1986.  They all provide water tap facilities and litter bins. Eastleigh Cemetery provide public conveniences for your use.

 

The cemetery office staff are based at the Hedge End Depot, Botley Road, Hedge End and undertake the administration and management of the cemeteries.

 

We aim to provide the highest maintenance standards throughout our four cemeteries and ensure that a caring, supportive and sensitive service is provided to those who are experiencing the pain of bereavement.
