• Eastleigh Elects New Mayor

Councillor Derek Pretty from Hedge End was last night elected as the new Mayor of the Borough of Eastleigh.

This year's Mayor's Appeal will be in aid of  Friends of Countess Mountbatten Hospice, West End providing care for people with cancer and Vitalise, Waterside House, Netley Abbey who provide affordable and essential breaks for disabled people and their carers.

• Temporary closure of A335 Southampton Road & Wide Lane, Eastleigh - Hampshire County Council will begin major reconstruction works within the Borough of Eastleigh on the A335 Southampton Road from Monday 30 June 2008.
