FREE event in association with Eastleigh BID.
Ever wished for something to brighten the evenings as the nights draw in?
The BID team will be running a Lantern Procession in Eastleigh on Saturday 19 October year to celebrate Autumn and help to brighten those darkening evenings. Schools and groups will be taking part in the procession, which starts outside the Swan Centre at around 6pm and walks down the High Street, finishing at the bandstand on Leigh Road Recreation Ground.
The procession will be joined by The Big Noise Samba Band who will give a star performance at the bandstand with a chance for the audience to have a go on the drums too.
More than 300 people will be making lanterns in the build-up to the event, ready to show them off on the night.
If you want to take part, you can come along to one of the free workshops to make a lantern on various dates around the Borough and then join the procession.
Final lantern-making workshops:
- 12 October, 10.30am - 12.30pm, Itchen Valley Country Park
- 13 October, 11am - 3pm, The Swan Centre
