The wait is nearly over for Eastleigh residents as M&S has revealed it will be opening its new Foodhall on Wednesday 16 August. Store manager, Dylan Chandler, will welcome customers for the first time at 10am with a glass of fizz and some sweet treats to enjoy as they browse the new store.
Situated on Coles Close off Twyford Road, the Foodhall will be filled with thousands of delicious products from M&S’s popular food and drink ranges, including a colourful selection of innovative dishes, snacks and beverages from the new Spirit of Summer collection.
The Foodhall team – which comprises 54 new recruits – will be busy over the next month preparing the store for its debut, with finishing touches being made to the glass-fronted Café, Bakery and the overall look and feel.
Dylan Chandler commented: “We’re opening just in time to introduce our fantastic Spirit of Summer range to local residents and provide them with the very best of M&S dining to inspire their meal times, barbeques and picnics!
“I’ve been speaking with the local community over the past few months and it’s great to hear how excited people are about M&S coming to Eastleigh. With just over one month to go, the team and I are making the final touches and can’t wait to reveal our extensive ranges and 50-seat Café with outdoor seating – perfect to enjoy the warm the weather.”
Dylan added: “We’ll have something for every occasion at the new Foodhall and are looking forward to helping our customers choose the right products for them. They will be at the heart of everything we do and we can’t wait to open our doors and hear their feedback.”
Cllr Keith House, Leader of Eastleigh Borough Council, said: ““The decision by Marks & Spencer to have their new Foodhall in the town centre is great news for the town. It’s the latest addition to the town centre after the cinema and restaurant development at the Swan Centre, Travelodge, the expansion of The Point and the arrival of the Council itself. I’m sure local residents, visitors and those who work in the town will enjoy shopping at this great addition to the our town centre.”
The store also boasts a unique set of green credentials, the most notable being the living wall, which is made up of hundreds of different types of herbs and perennial flowers. The wall will offer a source of nectar for local butterflies and bees and seeds for birds, as well as helping to insulate the store.
The popular Collect in Store service will be available at the store, which provides the option of having M&S.com orders delivered to the store the next day free of charge.
The store will be located on Coles Close, off Twyford Road, Eastleigh, SO50 4HD and opening hours are from 8am – 8pm Monday – Saturday and 10am – 4pm on Sundays.
