Eastleigh Borough Council has received national recognition by being shortlisted in the Commercialisation in the Property Estate category of the national MJ Achievement Awards 2017.

The Council has an impressive record of innovation in developing a successful property portfolio; maximizing the value of its estate and creating revenue income from its property assets.

Council Chief Executive Nick Tustian said, “We are delighted to be recognised for our efforts over many years in developing an exciting property portfolio of around  £200 million worth of assets throughout the borough. All our investments have been in the borough and they provide a significant annual net income of around £6.8million.  At the same time, this investment in our community has helped regeneration in the borough and provided a range of job opportunities for local people such as hundreds of new jobs associated with both the development and the operation of the Hilton at the Ageas hotel.”

He added, “We are extremely pleased to be shortlisted and acknowledged as one of the leading councils in the country for work in the area of commercialisation and property acquisition.”

The Council has been shortlisted along with five other councils and will now present its submission to a panel of judges before the winner is announced at an awards evening in London in June.
