Local people can now cycle to bus stops in the Fair Oak, Bishopstoke or Eastleigh as part of an Eastleigh Borough Council initiative to install cycle parking at twelve bus stops along the Bluestar 2 route between Fair Oak, Bishopstoke, Eastleigh and towards Southampton.
A Council spokesperson said, “The scheme helps residents who live too far away to walk to the bus stop to cycle and park their bike at the bus stop, whether travelling for work or leisure. It also helps save local people time and is also a good way of improving your fitness.”
The Bluestar 2 route offers buses every 20 minutes and free wi-fi and USB charging onboard, it is a frequent and convenient service with connected onward travel to Eastleigh and Southampton.
This is the second route to benefit from cycle parking and follows on from provision of cycle parking at a number of stops on the Bluestar 1 route in Chandler’s Ford installed by the Council in previous years.
