Council Leader Keith House said, ”In May, Bursledon and District Community Association evicted Bursledon Parish Council who had their office within Lowford Community Centre and along with it, the Hampshire County Council library that was run by volunteers.“

He added, “The Council deeply regrets that the court case to sort this out has been delayed at the request of the Community Association. BDCA should not delay this further. This popular community building is now not being run in a way that was anticipated by the councils that funded it. The leadership of the BDCA need to stand back and let the community run its asset. This would allow the library to be re-opened with support from its volunteers, for a wide range of activities to return, and for the Parish Council to return to the offices that they are paying for.”
