Registering to Vote

During the months August to November we carry out our annual canvass whereby all households will receive an electoral registration household enquiry form (HEF), you should have received yours on or around 5 August 2016 and if you haven’t responded yet, a reminder has been sent which you should receive around 21 September 2016.  Please respond to this form as soon as possible, if we do not receive a response from you an electoral registration canvasser will call at your property to collect it between 28 October and 13 November 2016.  We are required by law to visit non-responding properties.

The HEF is not a registration form - it is a form that enables us to check that all those entitled to register appear on the electoral register.    New residents are then sent an Individual Registration Form and are invited to register.  If they do not register, a canvasser will call to encourage them to do so.

The revised version of the electoral register will be published by 1 December 2016 and will be used for any elections held after that date. These will include the Hampshire County Council Elections to be held on 5 May 2017.
