Local children can now benefit from the installation of the new Lakeside Play Area, located at Monks Way, Eastleigh as this new play area is now open.
The new facility provides a wide range of play equipment including swings, trampoline, climbing structures, spinning dish, seesaw, a ‘springy’ and a tunnel to name but a few.
The play equipment was chosen following consultation with the local community. They initially selected the type of equipment they would like to see and then a selection of designs were produced. The community then voted for their favourite design.
The new equipment, that cost around £86,000, was funded from financial contributions from the developers of the South Street housing scheme.
Chair of Eastleigh Local Area Committee Cllr Paul Bicknell said, “After much hard work, we are delighted to invest in these new, much anticipated, facilities for this area that have been chosen by the local community. This new equipment will provide local children in the area with the opportunity to enjoy a range of play equipment and also encourage them to keep active.”
The new facility was installed by HAGS-SMP Ltd.
