Hamble Food Festival

The Council is supporting Hamble Valley Festival of Food at which 30 food and drink producers will be bringing their stalls to the Farmers’ Market at Hamble Quay on Saturday 5th September.

This special Hampshire Farmers’ Market will run between 10am and 4pm, selling a whole variety of fresh produce including locally grown or produced soft fruit, vegetables, free range lamb, beef and pork, honey, cheeses, sausages, bacon, fish, jams and chutneys, plants, wine and beer, cakes, bread and more!

The farmers’ market is part of a key event that sees the revival of the Food Festival, which originally took place between 2002 and 2005. The Hamble Valley Festival of Food is organised by The Marketing Collective who manage the Hamble Valley destination brand. Their aim is to promote the best in local food and drink suppliers, restaurants, pubs and food shops, and offer a family-fun filled day of tasty events for local residents and visitors.

Alex Hanford, Business Manager at Hampshire Farmers’ Markets “ The Hampshire Farmers’ Market offers a traditional way of purchasing fresh produce direct from the producers, and supporting small local food businesses, we are looking forward to bringing our market and producers to Hamble and look forward to planning more for 2016”.

The Hamble Valley Festival of Food will take place mainly on Hamble Quay and foreshore car park with special menus at the local pubs and restaurants, food and drink tastings, special offers and a live demonstration kitchen with local chefs.

There will be plenty of activities for children throughout the day with SoCo Music Project’s Vegetable Orchestra Workshop, Tree Creeper Story Telling, crabbing competitions, art and craft activities with Sea Sky Art Gallery and Little Art Haven plus music from the St Andrew’s Pipe Band and many more.

The Hamble Valley Festival of Food is sponsored by Coopervision and BP Oil UK Ltd and supported by Hamble Parish Council, Bursledon, Hamble and Hound Local Area Committee and Hampshire County Council.
