Local people have a chance to have their say on the future level of Council Tax Support within the borough.
Due to a reduction in Government funding all local authorities within Hampshire have a difficult financial situation to manage and over the next three years will have to make savings and increase income. Part of these savings could come from decreasing the amount of support given to residents through the Council Tax Reduction Scheme.
Before any decisions are made, local people have the chance to give their thoughts and views as part of a new consultation process that starts on 1 September and closes on 31 October 2015.
The Council is considering a number of changes to the scheme for 2016-17 and these are explained in the proposals document along with a consultation questionnaire that are available online at www.eastleigh.gov.uk/CTRS2015
The scheme for pension-age claimants is set by central Government and is not affected by any of the options set out in the consultation.
Paper versions of the form are available on request by phoning 023 8068 8053.
