Borough supports Armed Forces Day

Armed Forces Day

Mayor of Eastleigh Cllr Jane Welsh and Norman Brown President of the Royal British Legion Eastleigh & Chandler’s Ford Branch raised the Armed Forces Day flag to mark the start of Armed Forces Day celebrations.

School children from Norwood, Cherbourg and Crescent Primary Schools, together with Crestwood College and Yellow Dot Nursery also attended the ceremony in Leigh Road Recreation Ground.

Mayor of Eastlegh Cllr Jane Welsh said, "Armed Forces Day is a great way to show our support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community from currently serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets.

Armed Forces Day celebrations begin on Monday 22 June when Armed Forces Day flag is raised on buildings and famous landmarks throughout the country. Armed Forces Day takes place on Saturday 27 June .
