Chandler’s Ford was named in a 2012 national study as one of the best places in England and Wales to bring up a family.  The status was achieved after analysing the quality of local schools, childcare provision, affordability of living and crime levels.  It also considered the availability of parks, green spaces, leisure centres, zoos, farms, museums and theatres.

These things do not happen by accident.  Your Local Area Committee works hard to make sure that there is a good infrastructure for work, leisure, education and shopping in the area.  Local residents have responded with hard work to make the best use of that infrastructure and as a result we have a vibrant and prosperous community that local people can take a genuine pride in.

This part of the Eastleigh Council website describes what your local Councillors are doing to further improve the quality of life in Chandler's Ford.  The Committee meets approximately every six weeks to discuss major planning applications and to review progress on key projects.  Members of the public are invited to attend these meetings and to listen to the debate.  Before each meeting, and before every item on the agenda, local residents are able to express their views, ask questions and make suggestions.  Councillors may then take these into consideration during the formal debate.

Come and have your say – our Committee meetings are open to the public and we welcome anyone who wants to raise a local issue.  Regular meetings are on Wednesdays at 7.00pm at The Dovetail Centre, Methodist Church, Winchester Road, Chandler's Ford, SO53 2GJ and the dates can be found by clicking on the link below and then the relevant Local Area Committee:
