Coronation Parade

Proposed improvements

We are set to undertake a series of improvements to Coronation Parade in Hamble.

The scheme will be paid for by Bursledon, Hamble & Hound Local Area Committee using funding from recent nearby developments including GE Aviation and McCarthy & Stone (on the former Harrier pub site), Hamble-le-Rice Parish Council and an £8,000 grant from the Tesco ‘Bags of Help’ programme.

Coronation Parade will now benefit from a number of exciting improvements to this small shopping area. Our plans include resurfacing the area in front of the steps, redesigning the steps to include tree planting and improving paving and parking. The aim is to give more prominence to the Parade which serves as a gateway to Hamble village.

We have listened to views of local residents and businesses in previous consultations and have produced a proposal which includes 3 elements:

  • Improving the quality of the environment, including public art.
  • Improving parking provision.
  • Traffic calming measures.

We have arranged for artist impressions and plans of the proposal to be placed in the shops on the parade.

We would encourage you to go along and look at these proposals and really appreciate any thoughts or comments you may have.  Please send your comments to Matt Blythe, Local Area Manager, Eastleigh Borough Council, Eastleigh House, Upper Market Street, Eastleigh SO50 9YN or email matt.blythe@eastleigh.gov.uk by 16 January 2017.
