There will be a UK Parliamentary General Election Thursday 8 June 2017. A copy of the statutory timetable can be downloaded here.
Eastleigh Borough is covered by two Parliamentary constituencies: Eastleigh constituency and Winchester constituency
Eastleigh constituency is administered by the Acting Returning Officer at Eastleigh Borough Council and Winchester constituency is administered by the Acting Returning Officer at Winchester City Council and covers Chandler's Ford and Hiltingbury. In order to vote in these elections, you need to be registered on the Register of Electors and you must be:
- Resident in the Eastleigh Borough area on the date of the election;
- A British, Irish or Commonwealth citizen, or a British citizen living overseas for a period of 15 years or less;
- 18 years old or over.
If you are an eligible elector and you are already on the Register of Electors for Eastleigh, you do not need to re-register for these elections.
Information on how to register can be found at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. The deadline for applying to register for voting in the Parliamentary General Election is Monday 22 May 2017.
If you would like to vote by post the deadline for applying is 5pm on Tuesday 23 May 2017.
Please note the following dispatch dates of postal vote packs for Eastleigh constituency, is as follows:
- If your application was received by 26 April, your postal vote pack will be dispatched around 24 May
- If your application is received by 9 May, your postal vote pack will be dispatched around 26 May;
- If your application is received between 10 May, but before the deadline of 23 May, your postal vote pack will be dispatched around 30 May.
All postal vote packs will be dispatched first class.

To vote by proxy - The deadline for applying to vote by proxy is 5pm on Wednesday 31 May 2017. Please note that, when appointing someone to vote on your behalf, that person must be a registered elector who is eligible to vote at this election, and who is able to get to your polling station on 8 June. If they are not able to get to your polling station to cast your vote, they can apply to cast your proxy vote by post, but their application must reach us by the postal vote deadline as shown above.

Completed forms can either be posted back to the address shown on the form, or can be scanned in and emailed to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
