Under data protection legislation, you have a right of access to your personal data. This is known as a Subject Access Request. You have a right to:
1. be informed whether your personal data is being processed by (or on behalf of) Eastleigh Borough Council,
2. be given a description of:
(i) your personal information
(ii) the reasons for which your information is being or is to be used, and
(iii) who we are sharing your information with
3. be provided:
(i) the information which comprises your personal information; and
(ii) any information available to the Council as to the source of your personal information
4. where the automatic processing of your personal information is for the purpose of evaluating matters relating to you (for example, your performance at work, creditworthiness, reliability or conduct) has been or is likely to be the sole basis for any decision significantly affecting you, to be informed by the Council of the logic involved in that decision-taking.

Please state as clearly as possible in your request the information you seek.
A fee of £10.00 is payable for Subject Access Requests. Please make cheques payable to Eastleigh Borough Council. Once the fee has been received the Council has 40 days to comply with a Subject Access Request. The Council may require proof of identity from you before it can provide any information.
