New Year Boost
Better Health for 2022
New Year Boost is our annual programme to help residents in the Borough boost their health for 2022.
Sometimes, it can be difficult to know where to look or what is on offer, so this campaign provides a one stop shop of different activities - showcasing the variety and quality of activity providers and venues in the local area.
January is a great time to kickstart healthy habits, so take a look at these local activities to see which might be the New Year boosting one you need.
New Year Boost activities are aimed at Eastleigh resident adults (16 years+) who are currently doing little to no exercise.
NYBoost 2022
Residents took park in weekly beginners courses to raise their heart rate and learn something new in a number of locations across the Borough. Meeting like-minded people and boosting their 2022 on the healthier foot.

Netball New Year Boosters
Walking Netball at Hiltingbury Sports Hall, held by England Netball, formed part of our New Year Boost activities for 2022. Running for six weeks until half-term, the session boosted 9-12 participants each week.
Due to popular demand, the sessions are relaunching from Wednesday 2 March, 10-11am for just £5 a session - just turn up! Email Carey direct with any questions.
Hear from the participants regarding the many benefits they've experienced:
“The most fun I’ve had exercising for years - it doesn’t feel like exercise! Friendly group - all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities are made welcome. I truly have asked my work if I can go part time so I can keep coming to the sessions. I’m enjoying it more than words can say!” Jackie
“So thankful and delighted at being part of this newly found exercise group. The fun and beneficial mornings have brought back a love of a great game I hadn't tried since schooldays some 50 years earlier. Loved it then and totally enjoying it now. Sharon, 62(!)
“Having suffered with severe anxiety and depression for over a year, I joined walking netball as part of my CBT treatment. Carey was friendly and encouraging and I felt at ease from week one! I have attended all six sessions and feel fitter and my anxiety has lessened. I really enjoy the netball and have made new friends which is a bonus.” Chris

Fair Oak racketballers
Fair Oak Squash and Racketball Club, across from the Fair Oak Village Hall on New Century Park, hosted a New Year Boost ladies introduction course. The course ran for an hour each Saturday for six weeks at a half price rate.
The course proved popular and the first session was fully booked, with 58 attendances in the first four weeks.
