November 2017
Residents and visitors may have noticed that the Hamble Point Gun Emplacement has recently suffered severe undercutting by the sea.  This has resulted in the structure breaking up and there is now a risk of collapse.  For urgent safety reasons we need to barrier the emplacement off until a long term solution can be decided.  Due to the very aggressive environment the fence will need to be solid and secure rather than the more traditional Heras fencing seen on building sites.

Work to install the fence is due to start next week on Monday 13 November 2017 and will take approximately one week.

If there are any queries relating to the fence, please contact Matt Blythe, Local Area Manager on 023 8068 8311 or matt.blythe@eastleigh.gov.uk
