Extra gloss has been added to Eastleigh’s outdoor movie season with sponsorship from the town’s newly opened Dulux Decorator Centre.
The programme, part of The Point, Eastleigh’s Summer Social, invites audiences to grab a drink and some popcorn from the pop-up bar, pull up a deckchair and enjoy a line-up of blockbuster and classic film screenings on the Outdoor Garden Stage.
The Outdoor Cinema Season runs every Saturday evening until 3 August. The remaining movies are ET – The Extra Terrestrial (13 July), The Goonies (20 July), Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (27 July) and Captain Marvel (3 August).
The Dulux Decorator Centre opened on the town’s Stanstead Industrial Estate last month and is one of 213 nationwide. The store offers products such as paints, accessories, and wallpaper from leading brands as well as expert advice, services including free delivery and colour-matching. It also promotes greener decorating, with a can recycling service and a range of sustainable products.
John Baker, Store Manager, said: “We are immensely proud to be sponsoring to the Eastleigh Outdoor Cinema programme. Bringing the people of Eastleigh together in this way is something we are only too pleased to support and with films for everyone we’re looking forward to meeting families, friends and groups throughout the summer.
“It’s a fantastic community event that gives us a great opportunity to let people in Eastleigh know a little more about the help we can offer them for their decorating projects big or small. The Dulux Decorator Centre in Eastleigh opened in June and if people haven’t yet had a chance, come and see us on the Stanstead Road trade park where you can currently receive double Nectar Points on all purchases at the store until the end of July.”
Councillor Derek Pretty, Cabinet Member for Economy on Eastleigh Borough Council, which operates The Point, said: “The new Dulux Decorator Centre is a very welcome addition to Eastleigh’s retail mix and we’re delighted that they have chosen to sponsor The Point’s exciting outdoor cinema season. The Summer Social is growing in popularity and its diverse range of entertainment and activities are attracting more people into the town centre and boosting our evening economy in particular.”
The Point Summer Social 2019 offers six weeks of fun outdoor events, including live music, family events and wellbeing yoga.
