Places Leisure Eastleigh, the Borough’s flagship centre for recreation, fitness and wellbeing re-opens on Wednesday 2 December, following the latest coronavirus lockdown.
The reopening of Places Leisure Eastleigh is a reflection of the excellent work undertaken by both the centre operators, Places Leisure, and Eastleigh Borough Council to create a COVID-secure environment for the safety of customers and staff.
These measures include signage to ensure that everyone respects social distancing, the wearing face coverings, reduced capacity for activities, enhanced cleaning regimes, hand sanitising and cleaning stations, and pre-booking for all centre activities on the Places Locker app or via the venue’s website.
Councillor Tonia Craig, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, said: “It's great news that local residents are once again able to safely access the leisure facilities and sports clubs at Places Leisure Eastleigh. Hopefully, this positive news, in what has been a challenging time, will encourage our local residents to restart and maintain a healthy lifestyle.”
Dave Jolliffe, Area Manager, Places Leisure, said: “We are delighted that our leisure facilities will be re-opening again on 2 December and, judging by the feedback, our customers are incredibly eager to return to their centre. As well as improving the health and wellbeing of our community, the re-opening of Places Leisure Eastleigh is part of the solution to COVID. We, along with our partners, Eastleigh Borough Council, cannot wait to see you soon.”
