Local people have the chance to enjoy the wonderful world of moths when they join moth experts, on Sunday 23 June at Itchen Valley Country Park.
You can come along to see what species of moth have been caught at Itchen Valley Country Park in the overnight trap and observe the beautiful patterns and shades of these nocturnal insects.
The hour long event starts at 10am and will be a great way for some up-close views of some of our most beautiful and overlooked wildlife.
Perfect for amateur wildlife enthusiasts of any age the Moths of Poole Harbour team will guide you through the identification of the moths by and they can answer any questions you may have about the moths that you see.
Chris from the Moths of Poole Harbour Team said, “Moths, just like butterflies and bees pollinate trees, crops and flowers, but they do it at night! Moths are often thought of as dull, drab or annoying creatures that come into our homes, and yet when we have the chance to see them close up, we will quickly see how colourful and intricately patterned they are.”
