Southampton Airport has launched a six-week public consultation seeking feedback on its draft Master Plan which sets out its long-term vision for growth.
The Master Plan details how the airport plans to grow and continue to support the region over the next 20 years. It includes passenger forecasts and infrastructure requirements to meet the growing demand for air travel to and from the region. It also highlights the development of a runway starter extension as well as the expansion of the existing terminal building.
Cabinet Lead for Transport Cllr David Airey said,” I encourage local people to take part in this airport consultation. The proposals include increasing passengers numbers, an extension to the runway followed by development of the passenger facilities across the airport site, and developing new routes and more operations for larger jet aircraft and at the same time considering environmental issues. This is a perfect opportunity for local people to give their views and I encourage them to do so.”
There are four public consultation sessions:
Friday 5 October – Shawford Parish Hall, 5pm- 9pm
Monday 8 October – Holiday Inn Eastleigh, 5pm - 9pm
Tuesday 16 October – Bitterne Park School, 5pm - 9pm
Saturday 20 October – Southampton Airport, 9am - 1pm
