Local groups benefit from grants awarded by Hedge End, West End & Botley Local Area Committee
Local community groups and organisations have benefitted from nearly £10,000 of community grants awarded by by Hedge End, West End & Botley (HEWEB) Local Area Committee.
The grants are given out to groups to help recognise and celebrate the breadth of community work being undertaken in the local area. Thirty three grants of up to £500 were awarded giving a total of £9822.
The well-established annual community grants presentation was held at the Hedge End 2000 Centre and provided an opportunity to showcase many of the vital community services provided by voluntary and not for profit organisations in the HEWEB area
Councillor Cynthia Garton, Chair of Hedge End, West End and Botley Local Area Committee presented representatives of each group with their grants.
Councillor Garton commented "It’s great to present these grants, especially to people who volunteer and who give up their time to ensure that the community groups continue to thrive. The Local Area Committee acknowledges this invaluable work and members are pleased to be able to make these grants. I would encourage all community groups across the area to apply next year!"
The grant application process will start again in Autumn 2019.
