The Borough of Eastleigh will welcome India and South Africa cricket teams together with thousands of cricket fans from around the world for the first of five ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 matches to be held at the Hampshire ( Ageas ) Bowl.
India play South Africa on Wednesday 5 June starting at 10.30am.
Other games at the Hampshire Bowl (all start at 10.30am) are:
Monday 10 June – South Africa v West Indies
Friday 14 June – England v West Indies
Saturday 22 June – India v Bangladesh
Monday 24 June – Afghanistan v Bangladesh
Council Leader, Councillor Keith House, says: “We are delighted to welcome the players, officials, media and of course the cricket fans from so many different countries to the borough to enjoy our prestigious and world class cricket venue. I hope everyone enjoys the ICC World Cup cricket in our borough.”
Road signs for all matches are up around the area and the Council has traffic management arrangements in place. Parking restrictions will also be in place, with some residential areas being temporarily coned off. There will be road closures at the close of play (around 6pm-7pm) to help pedestrians and vehicles leave the site. Spectators are encouraged to arrive at the Hampshire Bowl in plenty of time to allow for enhanced security checks that will be carried out.
