Eastleigh has been named as one of the top ten locations in the UK to raise a family as a part of a recent survey based on factors that people look for when buying a new home.
The research by online estate agent Yopa has combined factors including educational standards, GP ratings, crime levels, drug and alcohol abuse, transport, quantity of green space and pollution levels to rank the top 10 family-friendly hotspots.
After analysing all of these factors, Yopa announced that Eastleigh is among the best places to live as a family as it was ranked eighth in the list of best UK locations.
Deputy Council Leader Cllr Paul Bicknell said, “We always said Eastleigh is a great place to live and this report confirms it. We have been investing in our green spaces, public open spaces and people like that. Also businesses see Eastleigh as an attractive place to invest as you get a good connectivity with the airport and the railway.”
He added, “A low crime level is also one of the reasons that helped Eastleigh reach the top ten together with our continued investment in our communities ”
According to Yopa, the top three locations were Ashbourne in Derbyshire followed by Walton-on-Thames, Surrey and Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
