Eastleigh Borough Council is urging local businesses to get behind its This Girl Can Eastleigh campaign.
It’s calling on local businesses to support the campaign by encouraging their female staff to get more active
This Girl Can Eastleigh aims to help women to overcome the barriers that may be blocking them from participating in exercise. The message is whatever your size, ability or previous experience, sport and exercise can be a fun and an enjoyable part of every woman’s life.
To make it easier for the female workforce in Eastleigh to get more active This Girl Can Eastleigh is offering FREE taster sessions in a host of different sports and activities across the borough. From weightlifting, badminton and adult ballet to netball, clubbercise and karate there is something out there to for everyone who wants to kick start their activity levels, while having fun in the process.
Participants can pick and mix up to six taster sessions, a perfect opportunity to have a go at different activities, and hopefully find one that sparks a passion. And with classes running at various times throughout the week there are many options available for women who work to attend.
Eastleigh Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing Cllr Tonia Craig said:
“This is a fantastic opportunity for women to try activities together with their friends and work colleagues, to give them the confidence to try something new and see that exercise can be a great social occasion, too.
“We really hope many local Eastleigh businesses can show their support and get behind the This Girl Can Eastleigh campaign. Not only will it help raise further awareness in the local community but it will also be a great way showing support for the health and wellbeing of their female workforce.”
Businesses getting behind the campaign are asked to share photos using the #ThisGirlCanEastleigh hashtag.
