This year’s Eastleigh Business Conference will highlight what the Council, its partners and local companies are doing to make the Borough a healthier and greener home for local businesses and their employees.
The free event – on Wednesday 27 June, from 4pm to 7pm, at The Point, Eastleigh - will bring together senior representatives from some of the Borough’s big brands, as well as up-and-coming companies, who will share their experience and knowledge of making their businesses healthier and more environmentally friendly.
They will be complemented by the expertise of Council specialists across range of areas - from business rates and recycling, to planning and environmental health.
As well as learning about best practice in promoting sustainability and health and wellbeing among their employees, attendees will be able to discuss issues that are important to their business with the Council’s team of specialists; find out about Eastleigh Borough’s Local Plan, and network with colleagues at the drinks reception that closes the event. The conference will also feature panel discussions and Q&A sessions, chaired by Lee Peck of Lee Peck Media.
A new awards scheme for Eastleigh Health & Sustainability Heroes, recognising companies who do most to promote an environmentally-friendly and health-oriented approach to doing business, will be launched at the event.
Councillor Derek Pretty, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Economy, said: “Eastleigh has already been voted a business-friendly location, and our aim from this free conference is to give local companies an opportunity to come together to discuss some of the key issues affecting them. I am sure that attendees will find it a valuable source of up-to-date information, as well as an opportunity to network and learn more about the support available from the Council."
