Council helps to fund new gym at Hamble Sports Complex

A newly refurbished gym at Hamble Sports Complex in Hamble-le-Rice has opened thanks, in part, to an investment of £125,000 from Eastleigh Borough Council’s Bursledon, Hamble & Hound Local Area Committee.
The Hampshire County Council project to refurbish the gym now means that the facility boasts over 80-station gym with state-of-the-art equipment and is being run by Everyone Active.
The Council’s investment has come from contributions made by house builders of local housing developments for improvements in the local community.
Chair of Eastleigh Borough Council’s Bursledon Hamble Le Rice & Hound Local Area Committee (LAC), Cllr. Tonia Craig, said: “With the LAC looking to promote healthy lifestyles for residents in our area we were delighted to support these improvements with a grant of £125,000. Hamble School and Sports Complex is a key part of our community and we hope this fantastic new gym encourages more local people to get active. We also look forward to working with Everyone Active on delivering improved youth services in the area.”
