We are looking for an experienced Environmental professional who is able to provide a high standard of professional specialist advice and support to ensure compliance with legislation, professional codes of practice and adherence to policy.

The successful candidate will have significant experience / knowledge of contaminated land, air pollution and related environmental protection issues such as Environmental Permitting and noise control. A thorough understanding of relevant environmental legislation and experience in the use of monitoring equipment is essential. You will be providing consultee advice on planning applications and to be able to act as an expert witness in legal proceedings is desirable. 

In addition, the role will involve dealing with EPR Licencing and private water supplies as well as investigating statutory nuisance and general EH work, such as statutory licencing and public health. 

Applicants will be educated to Degree level in a scientific discipline and hold relevant graduate qualifications in an environmental discipline or have extensive, relevant experience.  Membership of a relevant professional body or working towards membership is desirable.

You must possess excellent communication skills, be able to collect, analyse and interpret complex data, and have experience of dealing with developers, other EH professionals, Councillors and members of the public in person and on the telephone. You will also be required to demonstrate an ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm, even when the pressure of workload is high. You will have good IT skills and the ability to use relevant specialist software.
