Marketing Officer - Theatres

Maternity cover for up to 12 months

Full time (37 hours per week)

Band 4 – £24,700

The Point, Eastleigh is a regional powerhouse for contemporary dance, theatre and combined arts, presenting bold, innovative and inspirational new work. We engage thousands of participants each year through our programme of festivals, Youth Theatre, dance companies and a broad programme of workshops and classes. Through artist residencies in our world-class Creation Space and our trail-blazing Associate Artist programme, we support artists at all stages of their career.

The Point’s sister venue The Berry Theatre in Hedge End presents a programme of theatre and theatre for families, comedy and film and is home to a busy Youth Theatre. Both of our venues are owned and managed by Eastleigh Borough Council and have an important contribution towards the Council’s priorities – especially the health and wellbeing and reinvigorating our town and local centres.

We are now looking for an enthusiastic person to join our busy marketing team working across both venues. The role sits as part of the wider Council’s Communications and Marketing team and will be based at The Point in Eastleigh.

You will champion our brand and deliver The Point and The Berry Theatre’s tactical marketing plans and wider marketing and audience development strategy to maximise ticket sales, audience engagement and our wider commercial offer. The role will require you to liaise with visiting professional companies and artists to plan, implement and collaborate on marketing campaigns both on and offline.

You will have excellent communication and IT skills, experience of delivering engaging online and social media content, boundless ideas and a strong commitment to working in a challenging but rewarding arts environment.

A confident self-starter and excellent communicator, you will have experience in an arts marketing role.
