Highways Engineer

Part Time – 22 hours per week (flexible hours)

Band 7 - £33,478 FTE

Eastleigh is nearing the end of our exciting transformation programme to innovate our services and transform the way we provide advice to customers. The Service Delivery Directorate is currently seeking an Engineering Specialist working as part of a multi-disciplinary team contributing to the delivery of the Council’s Environment strategy.

We are looking for applications from individuals with demonstrable experience of designing and delivery accessibility and transport solutions to join our team. Experience in the use of TRICS, Autocad and GIS is also required and a working knowledge of designing and delivering Traffic Regulation Orders would be desirable.

You will need to be able to provide a high standard of professional specialist advice and support to ensure compliance with legislation, professional codes of practice and adherence to policy.

With a relevant qualification or equivalent extensive experience, you will be accountable for a range of reasonably complex cases that will require sound technical skills and knowledge.

We are looking for professionals who can demonstrate an ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm, even when the pressure of workload is high. Strong IT skills and a willingness to learn about the latest techniques, software and scientific methodologies are also essential.
