Health Development Officer (Exercise on Referral)

30 hours per week Minimum 6 month contract Band 6 - £30,435 pro-rata

We are looking for a Health Development Officer to work in the Service Delivery Directorate who has significant experience and technical knowledge in health, exercise on referral and community development.

The role involves delivering our Healthworks Physical Activity Scheme, Falls Prevention classes, neurofit, low level circuits, cancer pre-habilitation/rehabilitation project and Healthwalks Programme across the Borough. As well as front line delivery, the successful applicant will have experience in research, monitoring and reporting.

You will be qualified to degree level and REPS level 4 (including Exercise Referral) with significant experience in a health and exercise related environment. You will also have experience of delivering health and physical activity projects, teaching specialist medical referral classes, sourcing funding and managing budgets.

You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have experience of dealing with various internal and external partners, professionals and members of the public. You will also be required to demonstrate an ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm, even when the pressure of workload is high.
