37 hours per week
Temporary until 31 March 2022
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Welcome Back Team to assist the Action Plan Manager in revitalising our village centres following the Covid 19 pandemic.
The Welcome Back Fund is supported by the Cities and Local Growth Unit of HM Government and the 2014-2020 European Regional Development Fund Programme. Funding has been made available to local authorities to encourage shoppers and visitors back to their local centres by making them safe and attractive.
The role will involve supporting Council policies on social distancing and safe shopping by implementing recommendations from the Reopening High Streets Safely Fund Action Plan. You will help develop creative, appealing ways of encouraging people back to their local shopping areas without putting anyone at risk – such as the rollout of outdoor markets in the villages across the borough.
Close co-ordination with our Environmental Health, Engineering, Communications teams as well as local parish and town councils will be fundamental to the success of the work.
You will be in close contact with local businesses, residents and visitors in order to gather intelligence and identify borough-wide and location-specific challenges and opportunities. You will also monitor footfall by establishing a baseline reading and measuring the impact of any new event or activity.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be calm and professional under pressure, be able to prioritise and have experience of dealing simultaneously with multiple queries. They will need to be organized, self-motivated, prepared to share knowledge and skills and have a flexible, can-do attitude. An ability to analyse data sets and queries would also be valuable.
If you are excited by this opportunity and feel you have the skills, experience and attitude we are looking for, we would love to hear from you. At Eastleigh, we are committed to supporting and developing all our staff and creating a culture that is inclusive, innovative and enjoyable. We offer a good range of benefits and facilities and support our staff in maintaining a good work life balance through our innovative flexi time system.
