Eastleigh Borough Council is an ambitious and progressive council. We are recognised for our innovation and achievements, and for delivering high quality services to our customers and the community. We are constantly evolving and aim to deliver on our mission to support communities and improve lives.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employment Support Officer to join the Economy Team as part of a funded project to support employment opportunities within the borough.
This role will be responsible for supporting participants within the programme, identifying their key skills, specific barriers to employment, providing support and creating an Into Work Plan. You will be working in partnership with a number of key agencies and local stakeholders, motivating participants to enable progression to employment and identifying how obstacles can be best resolved.
To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate experience of working with disadvantaged participants and successfully implementing appropriate job search or employability techniques. You will demonstrate empathy, an ability to build rapport with individuals with diverse needs, have strong interpersonal, communication and organisation skills and have experience of supporting individuals with literacy or numeracy support requirements. An understanding of the local labour market and employment and skills provision would be an advantage.
If you are excited by this opportunity and feel you have the skills, experience and attitude we are looking for we would love to hear from you.
