Emergency Food Parcels from Eastleigh Basics Bank
We have teamed up with Eastleigh Basic Bank and a number of other local organisations to offer food vouchers to local residents who are experiencing financial difficulties and are in emergency need of food. Please contact the council’s housing services team on 023 8068 8165 who will be able to advise you on whether we can assist you under this scheme.
If we are able to help, the council will issue you with a food voucher. You will be able to exchange the voucher for a food parcel at:
Eastleigh Basics Bank, 41 High Street Eastleigh SO50 5LG
Open from 10am to 3pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays
The food parcel will be a mix of tinned, packets and boxed food as well as fresh produce when available. Eastleigh Basics Bank will try to meet any special dietary requirements as far as their limited stock allows them to do so. All of the non-perishable food which make up the bulk of the food parcels has been kindly donated by very generous people from all over the region. Their fresh produce comes from Sainsburys in Eastleigh, who allow the food bank to collect the produce, which is past its sell by date but not past its use by date.
Please note that Eastleigh Basics Bank does not accept direct customers. They only accept referrals from partner agencies such as Eastleigh Borough Council.
If you would like to donate food or support Eastleigh Basics Bank in any other way please contact them direct through their website address above.
