Youth Employment Hub

Information and advice for young people looking for skills and employment opportunities.

Our Youth Employment Hub is designed to help young people in the surrounding area with advice and guidance when thinking about their future career path and the opportunities that are available to them.

The Council has teamed up with local authorities Test Valley Borough Council, New Forest District Council and Winchester City Council in order to create a valuable hub for young people to access to make their road to employment successful.

This hub aims to reduce the barriers for young people aged between 16 and 24 and help them better plan their future.

How it works:

If you are looking for advice, support and help with training and employment, and are aged 16 - 24 yrs the hub can signpost to activity and resources that support young adults locally.

The four authorities will work together to help you to get into employment by;

  • Getting to know you, as a job seeker and the important people around you.
  • Identify your job aspirations and agree on the steps you may need to take to upskill if necessary.
  • Promote personal development and career progression.
  • Introduce different employment initiatives available to you.
  • Support you and the employer through the recruitment process.
  • Supporting you and your employer in the workplace.

Support we provide:

As part of this process we will map out steps that are needed to move closer to employment. We will support you with the following if these are relevant to you:
