Solar photovoltaic scheme

Information on our Solar Photovoltaic (PV) sites

We are running a programme of Photovoltaic (PV) solar panels installations to generate electricity and reduce carbon emissions with most being installed on our own buildings and one on a third party.

We have 1343 PV panels installed on various sites around the Borough which generate around 355,760 kWh of electricity. The average home uses 3,300 kWh of energy per year so these schemes are expected to generate enough electricity to power around 108 homes for a year.  By producing energy in this renewable form, the scheme will avoid producing approximately 187,485 kg of CO2 per year.
