Pay my Council Tax

Different ways to pay your Council Tax, including Direct Debit

Over 96% of Eastleigh Borough residents pay their Council Tax on time.

You can pay your Council Tax in various ways. However you choose to pay you will need your nine-digit Council Tax reference number (beginning with 9). This can be found on your Council Tax bill.

Direct Debit

Nearly 45,000 residents pay by direct debit. It is the easiest and most secure way to pay your Council Tax.

All the normal Direct Debit safeguards and guarantees apply when you set up an instruction online. No changes in the amount, date or frequency of a payment can be made without notifying you at least 10 working days in advance of your account being debited. In the event of any error, you are entitled to an immediate refund from your bank or building society. You have the right to cancel a Direct Debit instruction at any time simply by writing to your bank or building society, and sending a copy of the letter to us.

The instalments are detailed on your bill and payments collected automatically from your bank or building society. We offer the flexibility of two payment dates - the 7th and the 21st of each month.
