The Business Improvement District (BID) commenced on 1st April 2014 to give businesses and organisations in Eastleigh Town Centre more control over their future and to generate around £1million in the BID area over five years.

The BID is financed through a BID levy on the rateable value of over 300 town centre businesses, the proceeds of which are invested into the town centre and additional projects that businesses have identified and as set out in the Eastleigh BID Business Plan.

The money will be used on a range of initiatives including more marketing and promotion activities such as staging town centre events, the establishment of town centre rangers to provide a link between businesses, organisations and the public together with car parking promotion and incentives. Pop-up shops providing ‘easy in, easy out’ access for businesses will also be encouraged and grants will be available to attract new businesses and help existing businesses.
