Household Waste Recycling Centres HWRC banner

The borough's Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC's) , better known as Tips or Dumps, are operated by Hampshire County Council and are for residents who need to dispose of bulky household waste.

The HWRC's can be found in:

  • Woodside Avenue, Boyatt Wood (Telephone - 023 8064 4106)
  • Knowle Lane, Fair Oak (Telephone - 023 8069 4541)
  • Shamblehurst Lane, Hedge End (Telephone - 014 8978 0028)
  • Grange Road, Netley (Telephone - 023 8040 6182)

In line with their strict site licenses, the HWRC's are only allowed to accept the following from a household source:

  • Bulky items (including furniture)
  • Green garden waste
  • Metals
  • Newspapers and magazines
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Soil, rubble and DIY waste*
  • Wood
  • Textiles
  • Car and household batteries
  • fluorescent lightbulbs and energy saving bulbs
  • Engine oil

*Restrictions apply

Opening times

The opening times for the Eastleigh, Fair Oak and Netley HWRC's are:

(1st April to 30th September)

8am-7pm (including Sunday's and Bank Holiday's)

(1st October to 28th February)

8am-4pm (including Sunday's and Bank Holiday's)

(1st March to 31st March)

8am-5pm (including Sunday's and Bank Holiday's)

The opening times for the Hedge End HWRC are:

(1st April to 30th September)

Monday - Friday 8am-7pm

Sunday and Bank Holidays -9am-7pm

(1st October to 28th February)

Monday - Friday 8am-4pm

Sundays and Bank Holidays 9am-4pm

(1st March to 31st March)

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Sundays and Bank Holidays 9am-5pm
