Water
Water covers over 70% of the earths surface and is a very
important resource for people and the environment. Water
pollution affects drinking water, rivers and streams, lakes, seas
and potentially any recreational use of them. The aim is to
prevent or reduce the risk of water pollution where possible, and
to ensure that it gets cleaned up. The Council has
legislation that deals with various bodies of water and it also
regulates certain users of it.
