Rats             

The Council provides a Pest Control Treatment Service operated by the Environmental Health Service for domestic and commercial customers.  In the majority of cases the service for rats and mice is chargeable.   However in certain circumstances treatment is provided free or at a reduced charge.

Please Note - Pest Control Officers do not remove dead rats from properties.

They can be disposed of by double bagging (carrier or bin bags) and putting in your household rubbish bin.  It is advisable to wear gloves and/or use a spade to lift a dead rat into the bag.

If the officer visits and the problem turns out not to be rats, a call out charge of £21 will be applicable
