Dangerous Dogs
The following three Acts deal with any situation where dogs
bite/attack/worry people, livestock or other dogs.
Dog v Dog attacks
All dog on dog attacks should be reported to the Police
and the Animal Welfare Officers. Even if formal action cannot
be taken the information is important for future reference.
The address of the owner of the offending dog will be
required. The Animal Welfare Officers will offer advice to
the offending dog owner.
Dog bites
All incidents where dogs bite
people should be reported to the Police and the Animal Welfare
Officers. Formal action may be taken by the Police at their
discretion in which case a statement must be given.
Prohibited Breeds
If you suspect that
someone has a dog of a breed that is prohibited please
contact the Police and the Animal Welfare Officers.
