Major planning application now on view

The Council has received a major planning application that has now been uploaded onto its planning website for people to view.

The planning application for land at Wildern Mill and Hedge End Retail Park, Hedge End has been submitted on behalf of Next Group plc and Linden Ltd by Town Quay Developments.  The application includes the development of a Next ‘Home & Garden’ retail store with 214 car parking spaces accessed off Charles Watts Way.  The scheme also includes the development of 41 flats and houses in a mix of one, two, three and four bedroom homes with 69 car spaces accessed from a permitted new access off Turnpike Way.

The scheme proposes to demolish the existing Wildern Mill and associated buildings on the site.

The application also includes traffic calming measure on Turnpike Way, extensions to local footpaths and cycleways, landscaping across the site and a management plan to help conserve a local woodland site.
