“Go Before You Go”

The Council has launched a campaign to educate and inform people about the consequences of urinating in public areas of Eastleigh town centre.

The ‘Go B4 U Go’ campaign is aimed at encouraging visitors to the many licensed premises in the town centre to go to toilet before they leave the venue so that they don’t urinate in public areas on their way home.

Eye-catching posters will be provided to all the pubs, clubs, restaurants and other entertainment venues in the town to display in suitable locations within their premises to help get the message across.

Urinating in public can carry a fine of up to £500 and recent prosecutions for this offence in the town centre have resulted with individuals being heavily fined.

Chair of Eastleigh Local Area Committee Chris Thomas says “We are determined to get the message across that we won’t tolerate this type of behaviour from a small minority of people who visit the town centre. We hope that people will get the message and ‘Go before they go’ when leaving entertainment venues after a night out in the town”.
