Council plea for help – do you know this dog?
Eastleigh Borough Council is sending out an urgent plea for help
in tracing the owners of a dog that was abandoned at Hamble
Foreshore.
The Council’s Animal Welfare Team was
contacted by an extremely concerned member of the public who made
the shocking discovery earlier today. The young female Jack
Russell was found cold and wet and tied up on Hamble
Foreshore. The dog that is believed to be around 12 to18
months old was picked up by the Council’s Animal Welfare Officers
at approximately 12.30pm today but it appeared that she had been
there since early morning or overnight. The dog was is in
good health but terribly distressed so much so that it is currently
being looked after at a foster home rather than being placed in
kennels.
The Councils Animal Welfare Team said “Someone must know this
lovely little dog and we would urge anyone with information about
the dog and its owner to come forward. The Council will look to
take action against the owner for abandonment”.
Once the dog has recovered from the obvious distress it has
suffered, it will go through the Council’s dog re-homing
process.
Anyone who has information about the dog should contact the
animal welfare team on 023 8068 8000.
