Internet and Telephone Registration during the Annual
Canvass
Electoral registration forms will be delivered to every home in
the Eastleigh Borough towards the end of August each year.
(See note on the Annual Canvass page relating to 2012
registration forms). The information provided from
this annual canvass of all the households will form the basis of
the new Electoral Register, which will be published on 1 December
every year. As in previous years, residents of Eastleigh Borough
will be able to use a FREEPHONE ** or INTERNET service to confirm
their electoral details.
Telephone
Eastleigh Borough Council is offering those households whose
electoral details have remained unchanged, an easier way to confirm
their registration. By simply dialling a FREEPHONE ** number (0800
197 7687), and then keying in the special two-part security code
printed on the registration form, the caller is prompted to confirm
the household details. Success of the telephone registration is
confirmed with an advice of completion of the call. There is no
need to return the form to the council; the voters within the
household will be re-registered automatically.
The service is a fully automated touch tone system that will be
available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the canvass
period (August to November). By using the FREEPHONE ** service
existing household registrations are immediate.
Re-registering could not be easier.
** Please note: some mobile phone providers may charge for the
FREEPHONE service
Internet
We also provide an INTERNET service, and would encourage any
households whose electoral details have remained unchanged and who
has internet access to confirm their details this way. The web site
address is: www.registerbyinternet.com/eastleigh
this service will only be available until November.
If any households have not received their registration form by late
September they should contact the Electoral Registration Office on
023 8068 8110 / 8106.
