Committees
These Committees deal with planning matters and the Council's
licensing function. They have delegated authority to make certain
decisions, and may make recommendations in other cases.
Audit and Risk Management Committee

Committee
The Committee has a number of functions that
include: act as the Council's Audit Committee for internal and
external audit; overview the Council's risk management arrangements
and provide independent assurance of the adequacy of the risk
management framework; seek assurances that action is being taken on
risk-related issues indentified by auditors and inspectors; and
ensure that there are effective relationships between external and
internal sudit, inspection agencies and other relevant bodies.
Standards Committee

The main functions of this Committee include promoting and
maintaining high standards of conduct by the members and co-opted
members of the authority; assisting members and co-opted members of
the authority to observe the authority's Code of Conduct; and assisting parish
councils within the Council's area in promoting and maintaining
high standards of conduct by their members. Any alleged breach of
the Code of Conduct will be investigated.
The membership
of the committee includes 4 persons who are independent of the
Council and also 4 parish councillors from within the Council's
area.
Administration Committee

The main functions of this Committee includes the discharge of
such functions which cannot be the responsibility of the Cabinet
and which have not been delegated or allocated to another
committee, Panel or member of staff; to deal with matters that need
to be referred to a Committee of the council relating to elections
and electoral registration; be the body empowered to approve the
annual statement of accounts; and to notify, report or recommend to
council as appropriate.
Licensing Committee

The main function of the Committee includes the dicharge of such
function which fall within the ambit of the Licensing Act 2003 (or
any amendment thereof) and the Gambling Act 2005 (or any
recommendations thereof); to nofity, report or recommend to council
as appropriate; and that the Committee is authorised by Council to
delegate such work as the law permits and it considers appropriate
to Council Officers or nominated third parties.
